Gov.sg Debunks WhatsApp Message About Singapore Lockdown & PM Lee’s Address
Fake news are aplenty on WhatsApp, especially now that lots of uncles and aunties are bored at home.
Recently, there have been multiple messages being circulated on WhatsApp and other messaging platforms claiming that they are from the Prime Ministers Office (PMO), and spreading information about lockdowns.
Some are from early April, while others claim that PM Lee is addressing Singapore again today (17 Apr).
Fortunately, Gov.sg has just debunked those messages on their official WhatsApp and Telegram channels.

The fake WhatsApp messages claimed to have plans for Singapore’s lockdown.
One spread false information on Singapore being divided into 4 different regions, to facilitate containment of people.

Gov.sg reminded Singaporeans to ensure that they consumed accurate information by using official government websites and platforms.
They urged all Singaporeans not to spread false information in fear.
