Woman Who Spat On KFC Staff Arrested By Police On 24 Apr

On Wednesday (22 Apr), a poor KFC staff got spat on by a disgruntled customer. The customer, a 42-year-old woman, apparently got impatient waiting for her order.

This unfortunate incident took place at the outlet in NEX shopping mall, and sparked rage among viewers — given the Covid-centric landscape.

Now, it seems that the only wings this auntie is getting is the swift wings of justice, as police have arrested the woman on Friday (24 Apr).

According to police statements, the woman was arrested under the charge of causing public nuisance, reported The Straits Times.

Investigations are still ongoing.

Woman faces up to $2,000 fine, possible jail term

Although KFC made a police report against the woman, the customer had already left before the authorities reached the venue.

However, the Ang Mo Kio Police Division managed to identify the woman and arrest her.

For causing public nuisance, the woman faces a fine of up to $2,000. But for knowingly causing harm, offenders also face jail for up to 3 months, on top of a fine of up to $2,000.

According to the police, the woman is also under investigation for possible breach of Covid-19 ‘Circuit Breaker’ measures.

They said,

The police take a serious view of such egregious and irresponsible behaviour, especially in the current Covid-19 situation.

Let’s be on our best behaviour

It seems there is a just ending to this literal spat.

Let’s learn from her mistake and not ill-treat and disrespect service staff. We’re all trying our best to overcome the pandemic, let’s not cause unnecessary trouble.
