Woman filmed licking bus handrail in Hong Kong, sparking public disgust
A disturbing video recently surfaced showing a woman repeatedly licking the handrail of a bus in Yuen Long, Hong Kong.
In the clip, she appears fully absorbed in the act, even closing her eyes as if relishing the moment.
She then momentarily pauses, glancing around with a sly smile, before resuming her actions.
The footage was captured by another passenger, who later shared it on Threads with the caption: “I will never touch a handrail again in my life.”
Netizens suggest reporting incident to authorities
Responses to the video were quick and varied.
One viewer remarked that this incident highlights why handwashing is essential after using public transport.
Another jokingly suggested that the woman might have thought the yellow handrail tasted like banana.
Others raised more serious concerns, with one commenter saying that the incident should be reported to authorities due to the indecency of the woman’s actions in a public space.
“If you see indecent behaviour in a public place, you can report it to the police,” they wrote. “Maintaining order and safety in public spaces is everyone’s responsibility.”
The original poster, however, expressed reluctance to do so, citing potential repercussions for recording the woman without her consent.
Woman previously seen licking other items in public
In an unsettling twist, another commenter claimed to have witnessed the same woman engaging in similar lewd acts on multiple occasions.
They reported seeing her licking backpacks and poles on the Hong Kong subway, allegedly hopping on and off at various stations specifically to continue her unusual behaviour.
One netizen shared that they saw the woman on the train just days later, where she was speaking to every standing passenger as if “delivering a speech”.
She also purportedly “kept waving her hands, hitting the opposite door with great force, and even spinning around”, behaviour that the netizen described as “really frightening”.
