Man assaults delivery driver after refund dispute over S$6.50 item
A delivery driver in Thailand was reportedly assaulted after refusing to issue an immediate refund for a cash-on-delivery order worth 159 baht (about S$6.50).
Footage of the incident was shared on Facebook on 22 Dec by user Joe Konthorn Phianphasook.
In the post, he wrote: “We’re just ordinary parcel delivery workers. This was a cash-on-delivery order. The customer scanned and paid successfully, but then demanded a refund and accused us of cheating. We’re not the seller, we’re the delivery staff.”
Customer demands refund, claiming product is faulty
According to Thailand’s Channel 8, the incident occurred on 20 Dec in front of a housing estate in Bang Phun, Mueang district, Pathum Thani province.
The victim, 43-year-old postal officer Mr Phankorn (name transliterated from Thai), said he was delivering parcels as usual when he handed an item to the customer and informed him that payment was required upon delivery.

The customer asked to inspect the item before paying, and Mr Phankorn opened the parcel to allow him to check its contents.
After inspecting the item, the customer scanned and paid through the postal system, completing the transaction.
About 10 minutes later, the customer contacted Mr Phankorn again, claiming there was an issue with the product and demanding a refund.
Mr Phankorn said he explained that he could not return the money directly as the payment had already gone through the system, and that the customer would need to request a refund from the seller according to standard procedures.

When Mr Phankorn returned to the customer’s house to explain further, the customer allegedly attempted to grab the keys from his motorcycle before snatching his work phone and demanding his money back.
Mr Phankorn then left the area and contacted his supervisor using another phone.
The customer followed him on a motorcycle and punched him in the face, injuring his right eye.
