27-year-old Australian arrested for public sex on a driveway in Bali
A 27-year-old Australian man was arrested in Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport on 25 Aug after engaging in public sex on the driveway of a house in North Kuta, Badung Regency.
The suspect, identified as Billy Aspinall, had committed the act with an unidentified foreign woman and was caught in the act by a resident.
Resident walks in on foreigners having sex on driveway
CCTV footage circulating on social media shows the man and a woman entering a gate and appearing to go further into the property on 21 Aug at around 6.28pm.
However, they return to a spot behind the gate and begin having sex on the driveway.
An unknowing female resident who is preparing to place a religious offering outside her home is then taken by surprise when she walks in on the two.

She reprimands the copulating pair, but they ignore her, so she resigns and walks away.
During questioning, Aspinall admitted to the crime and said he met the foreign woman at a club, Detik News reported.
However, he claimed not to know the name or the nationality of the woman, adding that they had been intoxicated.
Man apprehended at Bali airport
Aspinall was apprehended at the airport before he was able to board a plane back to Brisbane.
The local police chief said the homeowners decided not to press charges, so the case was handed over to Immigration, News.com.au reported.
The police identified Aspinall from circulating CCTV footage and found his information through the Immigration Management Information System (SIMKIM).
Immigration then tagged Aspinall as a Subject of Interest (SOI) so officers can apprehend him when he passes through an immigration checkpoint.
“The immigration system detected a SOI hit on BA (Aspinall) when he was at the Ngurah Rai Airport Departure Terminal,” said Head of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Muhamad Novyandri.
Police searching for woman involved
Aspinall was held at the Badung Police Headquarters and charged under Article 406 of the Criminal Code (public indecency).

The crime carries a penalty of a fine or up to a year in prison, 9 News reported.
Aspinall was slated for deportation on 28 Aug.
Meanwhile, the foreign woman involved in the act has not been identified, but is being pursued by authorities for prosecution.

According to News.com.au, public sex is believed to bring bad energy to the home in Bali.
As such, residents have performed a Hindu purification ceremony at the scene to cleanse the premises of negative energy.
