Accident along Sims Ave involves 5 cars & 2 motorcyclists
Two motorcyclists were sent to the hospital earlier this week after an accident involving seven vehicles along Sims Avenue.
Footage of the aftermath posted by Singapore Incidents on Facebook showed the motorcycles lying amid several cars across the road.

2 motorcycles lie amid damaged cars along Sims Ave
One of the motorcycles apparently broke apart, with its pieces lying on the road behind a white car.
Its rider sat on the road next to the motorcycle parts, one of which was under the wheel of a silver car.

The silver car was damaged, with its bumper having become dislodged after an apparent collision with a grey multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) in front of it.
In front of the MPV was another motorcycle, which lay on its side behind a red sport utility vehicle (SUV).

Debris was scattered across the road.
Accident causes congestion along Sims Ave
In a post on X, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said at 7.08pm on Monday (17 Aug) that the accident occurred along Sims Avenue in the direction of Changi, after Sims Way.
Motorists were advised to avoid lanes 1, 2 and 3.

A minute later, LTA noted that the accident had caused congestion that stretched to Lavender Street.

The jam persisted till 8.31pm, with the stretch till Sims Way still congested.

2 motorcyclists sent to hospital conscious after accident
In response to queries from MS News, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) said it was alerted to the accident at about 6.25pm on 17 Aug.
It took place at the junction of Sims Avenue and Lorong 15 Geylang, and involved five cars and two motorcycles.
Two male motorcyclists aged 53 and 55 were sent to the hospital in a conscious state.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), which was alerted at the same time, told MS News that they were conveyed to Raffles Hospital.
Additionally, a 35-year-old male car driver is assisting with police investigations, which are ongoing.
