Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship is heading to Singapore in 2027, first Asian location outside of Japan
Singapore duelists, it’s time to d-d-d-duel!
On 31 Aug, Japanese entertainment company Konami Digital Entertainment announced that the next Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship will be held in Singapore in 2027.
This marks Singapore as the first host country in Asia outside of Japan for the championship.

Announced during Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2026
During the closing ceremony of the 2026 championship, the company announced that Singapore will host the 2027 tournament.
The announcement was accompanied by a key visual showing the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2027 logo against the iconic Singapore skyline, featuring Marina Bay Sands and the Art Science Museum.
The announcement was later posted on the official Yu-Gi-Oh! Official Card Game X account, garnering huge attention locally and internationally.

Details of the 2027 tournament, including dates, venue, qualification process and ticketing, have not been announced.
A top-level international competition
Based on the manga created by Kazuki Takahashi, Yu-Gi-Oh! is one of the most popular trading card games in the world, spanning a multimedia franchise of anime, video games and merchandise.

The Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship is the franchise’s top-level international competition for the past two decades.
Since 2003, players have gathered to compete for world titles across various Yu-Gi-Oh! games.

The competition featured four categories: Official Card Game, Duel Links (Speed Duel), Duel Links (Rush Duels), and Master Duel.
According to Konami Digital Entertainment, the 2026 main tournament took place between 28 and 30 Aug, and it brought together a total of 90 players competing in Ariake, Tokyo.
