Car crashes into Tiong Bahru drain after collision with motorcycle on 1 Sept, onlookers redirect traffic
A collision between a car and a motorcycle sent the former crashing into a Tiong Bahru drain last night (1 Sept).
The incident injured the motorcyclist and attracted a large crowd of onlookers.

Car smashes through drain railing in Tiong Bahru
Reddit user ‘HatchBeast’ told MS News that at around 8.45pm to 8.50pm, they heard the accident from their apartment nearby.
“Did not see it happen but it was very loud,” they recounted.
Photos shared on Reddit showed that a white car had driven onto the kerb next to Block 3 Tiong Bahru Road, smashed through a railing, and partially fell into a drain.

The driver’s side door was wide open and its occupant had exited. There did not appear to have been a deployed airbag.
Injured motorcyclist spotted lying on ground
Meanwhile, the motorcycle involved in the incident was half-standing, seemingly stuck against a broken bit of railing.
The Original Poster (OP) went to the scene and saw the car’s driver, whom they claimed was okay.
However, the motorcyclist was spotted injured on the ground, about 10 metres from the car. The OP suspected a leg fracture.

“Thankfully, no one died,” they claimed in the Reddit post.
A large crowd of onlookers quickly gathered at the scene alongside the OP.
They allegedly directed cars to make sure they moved to the outer lane in order to avoid debris from the crash.
26-year-old motorcyclist taken to hospital
The OP told MS News that the ambulance arrived after about 10 to 15 minutes.
In response to an MS News query, the police and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) stated that they were alerted to the accident at around 8.50pm on Tiong Bahru Road towards Zion Road.

Paramedics conveyed a 26-year-old male motorcyclist to Singapore General Hospital in a conscious state.
A 66-year-old male car driver is assisting with ongoing police investigations.
