TikToker shares humorous solutions to beat haze in Singapore
As the haze continues to be at an unhealthy range, many Singaporeans have begun searching for ways to stay safe and healthy.
Amidst this, a Singapore TikToker decided to make light of the circumstances, sharing humorous, outlandish solutions to beat the haze in a post on Thursday (15 Oct).
‘Reddit posts’ fictional, but inspired by real suggestions
The post appeared to involve solutions shared by Redditors, which the original poster (OP) decided to rate.
However, speaking to MS News, the OP clarified that these were “fictional Reddit comments inspired by random ideas [they] came across online and conversations [they] had with friends.”
She added that she made the post for fun and others are “free to take inspiration from it and create [their] own version”.
One suggestion involves moving the country “elsewhere”
One of the slides suggested that every Singaporean grab a paddle so we can row together and “move the country elsewhere like a canoe”.
Another suggested everyone who owns a car wash them at the same time, playing on the superstition that a newly washed car summons rain.

One solution, on the other hand, involves calling New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani to help solve the situation.
The US mayor is known on social media for promptly fixing issues in his city after receiving complaints, some of which are made through TikTok posts.

The OP also encouraged others to share their unusual haze solutions in the comments.
Netizens contribute more funny solutions
Several netizens took up the OP’s invitation to share more absurd ideas to deal with the haze.
One commenter suggested that all Singaporeans use their portable fans at the same time to blow away the haze.

Another commenter quipped that perhaps charging the haze using the Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) system may deter it from entering the country.

Someone also proposed having a “national vacuum the air hour” to have Singaporeans try to vacuum the haze from the air simultaneously.

Meanwhile, one suggested making a giant dome like the one in Jewel Changi Airport to cover the entire country and keep residents safe from the haze.
