Family Saved From Brazen Robbers Due To Eldest Son’s Quick Thinking
A family from Kulai, Johor Bahru, would have woken up to a robbed house, or worse, if not for their eldest son’s fast reactions.
On Tuesday (19 Nov) night, the 27-year-old son was playing computer games in the living room when 2 axe-wielding robbers broke into the house.
A scuffle ensued after the son tried to grab their weapon. Thankfully, the robbers did not manage to get away with anything from the house.
Son tried to snatch axe from robbers
When the son swiftly reached for the axe, one of the robbers even asked,
Do you want to die?
To defend his accomplice, one of them started using random items in the house to attack the son.
The robber was clearly not holding back as he tried hitting the son.
Family was woken up by the commotion
By then, the family and their helper were woken up by the noise. The mother, Mdm Liu, said that everyone was shocked silly by the scene unfolding in front of them.

They worked together to chase the robbers away in order to save their son. The desperate robber even took a kid’s scooter and mercilessly swung it at the family members.
Mdm Liu, her husband and son suffered superficial injuries because of this.
Robbers with axes ran away
The family put up a good fight and the robbers eventually gave up and fled. A member of the family even chased them all the way to the gate.
Even the white van, which the robbers got on, was rumoured to be stolen.

Low crime doesn’t mean no crime
Fortunately, in this case, the family members only sustained minor injuries. Had the family not come out earlier, the son might have been gravely injured.
While this crime may have happened in Johor Bahru, it does not mean that it cannot occur in Singapore too. It’s best to be vigilant and employ good security measures to protect yourselves and your home.
