FairPrice Offers 55-Cent Discount On Egg Trays Amid Price Hikes
Last month, Singaporeans noticed that kitchen staples, eggs, were getting more expensive. Thankfully, FairPrice has decided to bless us with a small yet significant discount on egg trays from now till next Wednesday (27 Apr).

Despite this good news, customers should note that there is a limit to the number of trays they can buy at any one time.
FairPrice offers 30 eggs for 55-cents cheaper
Minister of State for Social and Family Development Sun Xueling said on Facebook today (20 Apr) that FairPrice is selling a tray of 30 eggs for 55 cents less until next Wednesday (27 Apr).

According to The Straits Times (ST), the same tray of eggs cost S$7.50 at FairPrice and Sheng Siong last Wednesday (13 Apr), up from the previous S$7.20. In Feb, the price was $6.15.
Ms Sun pointed out that this discount will only be available while stocks last. To ensure that everyone has a fair opportunity, each customer will only be allowed to buy up to two trays at a time.
NTUC Fairprice still faces pressures from the economy
Fellow MP and FairPrice Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Seah Kian Peng reminded the public that the supermarket chain is facing cost pressures due to inflation, just like other businesses.

He mentioned that prices for all components of operation have surged in the past six months. This includes the cost of packaging, energy, freight, manpower, and commodity.
Nevertheless, FairPrice still wants to do its part to alleviate the costs of essential items for Singaporeans.
