Hypebeasts around the world were thrilled when IKEA announced its collaboration with Off-White designer Virgil Abloh earlier this year.

The MARKERAD collection, which comprises household items like rugs, bed covers, as well as other furniture is set to launch in Singapore on Thursday (31 Oct).

Like most things with high demand, the IKEA Virgil Abloh saw snaking queues at both IKEA outlets in Singapore from Wednesday (30 Oct) evening, one day before its launch.

Instagram stories also show long queues at the IKEA store along Alexander Road from as early as 7pm on Wednesday (30 Oct).

The situation was largely the same at IKEA’s Tampines outlet with customers queueing overnight to be among the first to cop items from the collection.

Both IKEA Tampines and Alexander outlets open at 10am.

Those queueing at the Tampines outlet were treated to complimentary croissants and doughnuts courtesy of the IKEA restaurant on Thursday (31 Oct) morning.

According to 8 Days, there were roughly 300 people in line as of 10am on Thursday (31 Oct.

Items relisted on Carousell for at least twice the retail price

The highly-anticipated collaboration includes 14 pieces ranging from rugs, bed covers, and common furniture like chairs and cabinet.

Some popular items from the collection have already been re-listed on Carousell, with some going for more than twice its original price.
