Kai Suites Confinement Centre Will Have Posh Rooms & Michelin-Star Style Food, Opens In 2020
Confinement nannies can be important figures in every new mother’s lives. That’s because it’s their job to look after the baby and the woman as she eases into motherhood.
But when it comes to hiring nannies, some mothers might not be comfortable at the thought of letting a stranger into their lives, staying with them 24/7.
One new facility in Singapore aims to revolutionalise postpartum experiences for mothers — at least those with deep pockets.
Kai Suites, Singapore’s first luxury confinement centre slated to open in 2020, offers posh suites and “Michelin-star style” food that will make every mother’s postpartum experience feel like a holiday staycation.
Atas confinement centre will be located in Newton
Their location puts them in the ecosystem of other surrounding medical facilities:
- Thomson Medical Centre
- Mount Alvernia Hospital
- Novena Medical Hub
- Mount Elizabeth Hospital
- Gleneagles Hospital
This will likely ease the patient’s transfer after they’ve given birth at the hospitals.
Ex-maternity ward nurses will jaga clients
The confinement centre houses over 18 suites served by 80 staff members so mothers are certain to receive the attention and care you need during this vulnerable period.
Clients in the confinement centre will be jaga-ed by ex-maternity ward nurses, each with more than 10 years of experience.
Instead of bland and boring food, clients will be able to enjoy “Michelin-star style” food prepped by a group of doctors, nutritionists, and chefs.
There’s also Javanese jamu wraps at the facility for mothers who want to tone their tummies after giving birth.
For illustration purposes
Each suite is designed to look like a 5-star resort, even fitted with amenities like 65-inch TVs that mothers can use to catch up on their favourite Netflix series.
Standard package will cost $12,000
That said, the luxurious confinement centre stay isn’t going to be cheap.
According to CNA, a standard package will cost $12,000 and comprises:
- 3-month prenatal programme
- 7-day stay after delivery — right after being discharged from maternity ward
- 3-month postnatal programme.
Clients can also choose to stay for longer periods of 14 days and 30 days, if 7 days are insufficient.
What other services would you like to see at the confinement centre?
As of the time of this article, the exact date of the facility’s opening hasn’t been stated.
But if you’re an expecting mother who wants to pamper yourself after giving birth, and don’t mind paying for it, this is one facility that you’ll certainly enjoy.
