Man wearing underwear and foreign masseuse arrested by religious police
A man wearing only his underwear was arrested by religious police alongside a foreign masseuse at a massage parlour in Kota Tinggi, Johor, Malaysia, on Monday (24 Aug).
According to the Johor Islamic Religious Department (JAINJ), the two were nabbed by a team of enforcement officers during an operation at 10.45pm.
Authorities discovered pair in massage parlour room
The authorities discovered the pair in one of the establishment’s rooms, Harian Metro reported.
“Inspection found that the local man in his 30s was only wearing underwear when he was found lying down, while a woman in her 30s who was also an Indonesian citizen was sitting next to him,” JAINJ reportedly said in a statement.
They added that the room had a single bed, and that they found a man’s clothes and several small bottles of massage oil inside.

Man is married and has a child
Further investigation revealed that the man is married.
He works and rents a room in Kota Tinggi, while his wife and child live in another state about three hours away.
“He also claimed that he usually returns to his village once a week or every two weeks,” JAINJ stated.
Meanwhile, the woman involved began working at the premises as a masseuse on commission about four months ago.
Man denies getting additional services from masseuse
JAINJ said the massage parlour is suspected of attracting customers through promotions on several Internet applications, in addition to regular walk-in customers.
A regular massage costs RM80 (S$25) per hour, with additional fees for other services.
“However, the man claimed he only got a regular massage because he was tired after work and denied getting any other services,” JAINJ said.

The pair were arrested on suspicion of committing khalwat under Section 27 of the Johor State Syariah Criminal Offences Enactment.
They will be charged in the Syariah Court for further action.
