Man assessed for minor injuries

In response to queries from MS News, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received a call for a water rescue at about 9.30pm on 2 Nov.

A person in the waters off 1 Harbourfront Walk — the address of VivoCity — was rescued by the PCG using a life buoy before SCDF arrived.

The person was assessed for minor injuries, but declined to be taken to the hospital.

Man apprehended under Mental Health Act

The Singapore Police Force (SPF), which received a call for assistance at about 10.20pm, told MS News that a 32-year-old man was apprehended under Section 7 of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Act 2008.

According to Singapore Statutes Online, that section obliges the police to apprehend any person believed to be dangerous to themselves or others, and such danger is reasonably suspected to be attributable to a mental disorder.

No injuries were reported, SPF added.
