SCDF uses rescue equipment to retrieve man from waters off Yishun Dam
A 30-year-old man died on Wednesday (2 Sept) morning after his body was retrieved from the waters off Yishun Dam.
An image posted in the comment section of a post on the Complaint Singapore Facebook page showed several police and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) vehicles parked along the road, including an ambulance.

Yishun Dam congested due to incident
The original poster (OP), who uploaded the post at 8am, remarked about how many police and SCDF vehicles there were in the area.
The commenter who shared the photo said she was in the area that morning and it took her almost an hour to get through the jam.
Another user described the congestion that morning as “very bad”, which forced them to make a detour to get home after working overnight.

Man pronounced dead after being retrieved from water
In response to queries from MS News, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) said it received a call for assistance at about 7.20am on 2 Sept.
It came from Yishun Avenue 1, which runs along Yishun Dam, where a body was found in the water.
SCDF, which was alerted at the same time, subsequently used rescue equipment to retrieve the body.
The 30-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene by an SCDF paramedic.
No foul play is suspected, based on preliminary investigations.
Further police investigations are ongoing.
