9-Year-Old Boy Thanks Mother Repeatedly For Buying McNuggets
When McDonald’s announced that its outlets would reopen on 11 May, Singaporeans rejoiced after missing their favourite McSpicy burgers and McNuggets for 3 weeks.

On Tuesday (19 May), a 9-year-old boy named Adam got to taste his beloved McNuggets for the first time in around a month and was so overwhelmed with joy that he burst into tears.
His mother uploaded a video on the same day showing his priceless reaction to the food. You can watch the video in full here.
Mother wanted to surprise son with McNuggets
At the start of the video, Wati Rahim – Adam’s mother – shares how she wanted to surprise her family by buying McDonald’s for her family to break their fast.
After purchasing the meal from the outlet at Pioneer Mall, she specially packaged the meal in a regular red plastic bag so her son wouldn’t grow suspicious.
However, given the distinct smell that comes with anything from the Golden Arches, Wati hypothesised that her son would be able to identify what was in the bags simply by sniffing.

After reaching home, Wati entered the room that Adam was in and told her son that she wanted to talk to him.
It took mere seconds before Adam discovered the feast lying on the table. He immediately took off towards the food while screaming and crying tears of joy.
Still weeping from the pleasant surprise, Adam later hugged his mother and told her that he was under the impression that she wanted to “scare” him.
Though clearly overwhelmed by his emotions at this point, Adam did not forget to thank his mum for the treat.

The video then cuts to another scene where Adam was seen enjoying his McDonald’s meal.
With the feast spread out in front of him, the 9-year-old instinctively grabbed a piece of McNugget from the middle of the table.
As he takes a bite of the chicken nugget, Adam closes his eyes and held the piece of meat against his cheek.
According to Wati, this was Adam’s first time eating something from McDonald’s for around a month.
While savouring the meal, the 9-year-old couldn’t help but let out tears of joy again. He also said “thank you” while attempting to hold back his emotions.

We hope Adam and the rest of his family enjoyed their McDonald’s feast which would no doubt taste better after the chain’s 1-month hiatus.
While McDonald’s has since reopen, feasting at one of the physical outlets with friends and family remains something that many of us miss.
For now, let’s hope things will resume normalcy soon so all of us can go about our daily activities as per usual.
