NTU Covid-19 Cases Were Last On Campus In Feb & Early Mar
As the Covid-19 outbreak escalates around the world, many Singaporean students studying overseas or on exchange have been advised to come home.
Among them are 2 students and a faculty member of Nanyang Technological University (NTU) who unfortunately tested positive for Covid-19.
The university disclosed the information via an email seen by MS News today (24 Mar).

NTU Covid-19 cases are unrelated to one another
In the email to all staff and students, the NTU president confirmed that 3 members – 2 students and a faculty member – had tested positive for Covid-19.
All 3 of them had recently returned from abroad and are receiving treatment at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID).
However, the 3 cases have no links to one another.
The 2 students had apparently returned from different parts of the United Kingdom (UK) while the faculty member had returned from the United States (US).
All of them have not been on campus recently too.
Both students have not been in school since February while the faculty member was last on campus in early March.
NTU staff are currently in touch with the trio and will render them the necessary assistance and support.
Just last week, 2 NTU students who returned from Spain tested positive for Covid-19.
NTU urges students and staff to adhere to government advisories
In the same email, NTU also urged everyone in the community to adhere to government advisories.
In particular, the university reminds employees and students to follow the government’s plea to avoid travelling overseas.
NTU also reminded those who recently returned from overseas to serve their compulsory Stay-Home Notice.
Lastly, employees and students were advised to download the new TraceTogether app to support ongoing contact tracing efforts.

Let’s hope Singaporeans returning from overseas would adhere to the guidelines put forth by the government to curb the spread.
The Covid-19 outbreak is unfortunate, but it’s something all of us can get through together if we stick – not literally – together and follow the measures and practice good personal hygiene.
