Resident pandas Kai Kai and Jia Jia celebrating birthdays with ice cakes at River Wonders during September school holidays
Singapore’s famous resident pandas, Kai Kai and Jia Jia, will be celebrating their birthdays at River Wonders soon this September.
Guests will also have the chance to visit the Panda Planet Immersive Experience, open for a limited time only until 14 Sept.
Pandas to get ice cakes and gift boxes for birthdays at River Wonders
On 3 Sept, Mandai Wildlife Group released an announcement regarding Kai Kai and Jia Jia’s birthdays.
Jia Jia the female panda turned 18 that day.
However, River Wonders will be holding her belated birthday celebration on 5 Sept, at the Pavilion Capital Giant Panda Forest.

Meanwhile, Kai Kai will turn 19 on 14 Sept. His birthday celebration will take place one day prior, on 13 Sept.
The public is invited to join their birthday parties at noon on the respective days.

Guests will get to watch the pandas tuck into ice cakes and gift boxes filled with their favourite treats, lovingly prepared by their keepers.
Kai Kai and Jia Jia are expected to return to China in 2027 after a previous five-year loan extension.
This might be the last time you get to celebrate their birthdays with them in person, so don’t miss out.
Special Panda Planet exhibition from China open from 4 to 14 Sept
Their birthdays are not the only limited-time panda events at River Wonders in September either.
The Panda Planet Immersive Experience is making its first stop outside China in Singapore.
Presented by multimedia channel iPanda, the exhibition will also be hosted at the Pavilion Capital Giant Panda Forest. It will last from 4 to 14 Sept only.

At the ‘Giant Panda Science Zone’, guests can learn about the evolution, behaviours, and unique adaptations of giant pandas.
They will also be taught about conservation efforts for the famously vulnerable species.
The ‘Kai Kai & Jia Jia Birthday Zone’ will feature fun facts about the pair.
It will also contain a special update on Le Le, Singapore’s only local-born panda cub, who returned to China in Jan 2024.

Pandas’ birthdays and exhibition taking place during September school holidays
Lastly, the ‘Panda Planet Immersive Experience: MR Experience Zone’ will give visitors an interactive virtual experience of the giant panda’s natural ecosystem.
Across the three zones, guests can test their knowledge with science trivia challenges and snap photos at panda-themed photo points for a chance to redeem exclusive merchandise from iPanda.

The birthday celebrations and exhibition are both included in the River Wonders admission tickets, available at the park or on Mandai Wildlife Reserve’s website.
With the school holidays beginning on 5 Sept, the day of Jia Jia’s birthday celebration, families have even more reasons to take their kids along to River Wonders.
