RedMart To Limit Orders Amid Covid-19 Outbreak To Ensure Supply
Online grocery shopping store, RedMart, has experienced a surge due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
To keep up with increased demand, the company will implement changes in product assortment and update their system. These changes will enable them to serve more people.
If you’re relying on RedMart to stock up on essential goods, then here’s what you need to know.
Prioritise essentials & impose limits
In a press release, RedMart announced that they will implement new measures to ensure adequate supplies.
These include the following:
- Reduction of product assortment range to prioritise essential goods, i.e. flour, eggs and rice
- Asking customers to collect orders as soon as they receive an SMS notification. This ensures fresh and frozen products will maintain their quality
- Impose a maximum of up to 35 items per order so supplies will remain adequate for everyone
- Orders that exceed 100kg will be cancelled
- Customers will not be allowed to add items once the order has been made.
Redmart responds to Covid-19
RedMart believes that these measures will help them maximise their logistics and allow households to make 2 orders per week.
The company also needs time to implement these changes so it won’t take orders from Thursday (2 Apr). However, they will resume services on Saturday (4 Apr).
Lazada Singapore CEO James Chang, told The Straits Times,
We seek the understanding of our customers during this time, as we continue to fine-tune our operations under the current landscape.
The company is monitoring the Covid-19 situation and will implement necessary measures.
In the meantime, their staff and delivery representatives will undergo daily temperature checks and sanitation. They will follow hygiene protocols imposed by the Ministry of Health (MOH) before and after every delivery.
Buy what you need
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, locals are advised to remain in their homes.
We hope that RedMart’s services will enable shoppers to avoid trips to the supermarket and adhere to social distancing measures. While staying at home may seem depressing, it’s a small sacrifice in exchange for the safety of every member of our society.
