Yishun Coffeeshop Has Takeaway Hotlines In Mandarin To Help The Elderly Skip Queues

Yishun Coffeeshop Compiles Takeaway Hotlines So Customers Can Place Orders In Advance

In line with Singapore’s circuit breaker measures, F&B outlets have stopped allowing customers to dine in from 7 Apr onwards. Customers can only order takeaway or call for delivery from now till 4 May.

With most people working from home, neighbourhood coffeeshops around Singapore no doubt see long queues during lunch and dinner times.

The queues look even longer thanks to the mandatory 1-metre spacing from social distancing.

However, a coffeeshop in Yishun has moved to make customers’ queueing experience more pleasant by providing takeaway hotlines.

Takeaway hotlines for customers to call ahead and place orders

In a Facebook post by Chong Pang City, Yishun on 7 Apr, a coffeeshop compiled numbers of 6 F&B stores in a list.

Customers can call ahead and place their orders in advance before heading down to the shops to collect their order, saving on queue time.

MS News understands that this initiative involves the coffeeshop at Block 101, Yishun Avenue 5, S’pore 760101, closest to the amphitheatre.

A quick search online leads us to Jing Ma Che (H.K) Roasted Porridge Noodle House, which apparently sells delicious roasted chicken or char siew served on top of fragrant white rice.

If the roasted meat stall already offers such a tantalising menu, we can only imagine how yummy food from the other stalls will look like.

Even if you’d rather stick to home-cooked food, nobody can resist some ice cold kopi or teh peng especially in the hot weather lately.

Call the hotlines to order ahead today

It’s great that the coffeeshop compiled this list on the very first day of the circuit-breaker. The useful information is something we can use all the way till 4 May.

Fair warning though, we’re not too sure whether store owners are proficient in English, so non-Chinese speakers might want to get a friend who does speak the language to call in for them.

Other than that, boost the efficiency in your day by using the hotline from today onwards.

Also, don’t forget to wear your face masks and practice safe distancing while you queue.
