Yishun’s Integrated Transport Hub Opens 8 Sep, With Aircon Linkways To Northpoint & Yishun MRT

Yishun Integrated Transport Hub Is Fully Air-Conditioned With 1st Heart Zone

Yishun residents don’t always have much to be happy about when it comes to the media, but here’s something different for a change.

Yishun’s fully air-conditioned Integrated Transport Hub (ITH) officially opens on 8 Sep, meaning Yishun residents will no longer have to wait in the heat at the temporary bus interchange.

Yishun Integrated Transport Hub has prominent signs pointing to nearby hospitals

In a video shared last Saturday (3 July), Nee Soon MP Associate Professor Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim enthusiastically showcased a preview of the ITH.

You can watch the video here for a glimpse of the spacious ITH.

Signs to nearby places like Nee Soon Central Community Club and Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) are prominently shown to better direct commuters.

There are also barrier-free alighting areas and plenty of amenities for passengers who require additional assistance.

First Heart Zones in an ITH

Commuters are encouraged to help out the needy who wish to visit the nearby hospitals at the special Heart Zones. These will be the first Heart Zones to be found in an ITH.

There will also be a room for those with special needs who require a quiet space within the ITH.

Additionally, close to 600 bicycle parking lots will be located close to the ITH to encourage users to go ‘car-free’.

For safety, the ITH will also have a reverse warning system for buses moving from parking lots to the driveway, to prevent any accident from occurring.

Air-conditioning and direct access to Yishun MRT and Northpoint City

While the ITH has plenty of neat facilities, the two best things about it are arguably its air-conditioning and closeness to Northpoint City.

In the past, commuters had to walk under the sweltering heat from Yishun MRT or Northpoint City to get to the temporary bus interchange.

Now, the bus interchange is located right next to Northpoint City, with multiple access points linking the two landmarks.

A fully air-conditioned underpass will also link Yishun MRT station to the ITH.

Good news for Yishun residents

The impending opening of the ITH is good news indeed, for Yishun residents and others residing in the North.
