Brazilian Man Blew Up His Backyard After Tossing In A Cap Of Gasoline & Lit Match

Yes you heard us, a man in Brazil blew up his backyard. And no, it wasn’t on purpose. Here’s what happened.

According to 9GAG on Thursday (24 Oct), Brazilian man Cesar Schmitz was apparently trying to kill a bunch of cockroaches when he accidentally blew up his entire backyard.

A video posted on Youtube by ViraHog shows how the entire explosion happened as captured on Mr Schmitz’s CCTV.

We really hope he successfully destroyed the roach nest with this fiery move.

Garden infested with cockroaches

According to 9GAG, Mr Schmitz shared that his wife complained about cockroaches invading their garden.

His wife then “begged” him to destroy their nest under the soil.

Hence, he tried killing them by using a poisonous spray meant for beetles, but to no avail.

Threw in a cap full of gasoline & lit match

Desperate to destroy the roach nest, Mr Schmitz decided to light a match to set the nest on fire.

For an enhanced effect, he threw in “a cap full of gasoline”.

Boom, that’s how the explosion happened.

Backyard turned upside down, literally

Unbeknownst to him, his ‘full-proof’ matchstick-gasoline concoction blew his entire backyard upside down, literally.

The grass patch exploded, prompting his poor doggos in the background to run for their lives.

His poor wheelbarrow leaning on the wall also got shot upwards in the explosion.

Upon realising what happened, Mr Schmitz stood there for a good 5 seconds, probably trying to register what just happened.

It was crazy but it worked

Even though his attempt at destroying the roach nest blew up his backyard, it probably served his intention to kill all cockroaches well.

With the impact of the explosion seen in the footage, we’re pretty sure all the cockroaches are dead by now. We sure hope the explosion didn’t happen for nothing.
