10 people injured after a roller coaster mishap in Malaysia
10 individuals sustained minor injuries after a roller coaster mishap at an unnamed theme park in Subang Jaya, Malaysia, on Saturday (22 Aug) evening.
The victims were subsequently brought to medical facilities in the district for treatment.
“No fatalities were reported,” said Subang Jaya police chief Wan Azlan Wan Mamat in a statement on 24 Aug, according to Free Malaysia Today.
22 people were on rollercoaster during incident
Mr Wan Azlan said 22 people were on the rollercoaster when the incident occurred at around 9pm on Saturday.
These include locals and foreign tourists aged between 11 and 44.

Police then received a report regarding the incident at around 11.45am on Sunday.
A probe into the incident is underway. Meanwhile, the police urged the public not to speculate in ways that could interfere with the investigation.

The identities of informants will be kept confidential, the authorities assured.
Videos of aftermath circulating on social media
Several videos of the incident and its aftermath were shared on social media.
A woman on the roller coaster managed to capture the moment it was moving at high speed.
The sudden stop was followed by sounds of people groaning.
Subsequently, one video captured people carrying an individual on a stretcher away from the roller coaster right after the incident.

Another video recorded during daytime reportedly shows a crowd gathered near one of the rides, while police officers and theme park staff were seen walking away.
