Car Catches Fire After Crashing Into Wall Of CTE Tunnel, Burst Into Flames
Though driving can be a convenient way to travel, it could also be dangerous in the event of an accident.

Those driving along CTE yesterday (2 Nov) evening might have seen a rather alarming sight. A car apparently caught fire after crashing in the CTE tunnel.
According to the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), 2 members of the public helped to rescue the driver. He was later conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.
Car bursts into flames after crashing into CTE tunnel wall
On Tuesday (2 Nov), several videos showing a traffic accident along CTE were started circulating on social media.
In a video posted in the Traffics accident.SG Facebook group, the driver’s door was left ajar but remains unclear if anyone was in the car at the time.
However, another video probably taken a few minutes later showed the car up in flames.
The tunnel was also filled with smoke, which could also be seen from the outside.
The TPE exit was closed as a result of the accident, and motorists were alerted to this thanks to the electronic signboards.
SCDF extinguishes fire using compressed air foam jet
In a Facebook post on Tuesday (2 Nov) evening, SCDF said they were alerted to the blazing vehicle along CTE towards SLE at around 5.05pm.
The car had was already engulfed in flames by the time they arrived. Thankfully, SCDF officers were able to extinguish the fire using a compressed air foam jet.
The walls along the tunnel were damaged as a result of the fire and appears charred.
2 members of the public had reportedly rescued the driver after witnessing the accident, moments before the vehicle burst into flames.
SCDF has since reached out to the 2 good Samaritans to commend them for their quick-thinking and selfless act.
The driver was later conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. No other injuries were reported.
Speedy recovery to driver
Kudos to the 2 individuals who rescued the driver before the car burst into flame.
Things could have certainly been worse if he or she was in the vehicle when the fire broke out.
Hopefully, the driver is not too badly hurt and will makle a speedy recovery.
