Faisal Manap registered as property agent on 16 Sept, still Workers’ Party Vice-Chair
After 14 years as an MP for Aljunied GRC, Mr Faisal Manap has joined ERA Singapore as a property agent.
According to ERA’s website, the 51-year-old is now listed as an associate of the agency.

Faisal Manap’s registration last till end-2026
A search on the Council for Estate Agencies (CEA) showed that Mr Faisal’s registration started on 16 Sept and lasts till the end of this year.
It also said that he is registered with ERA Realty Network Pte Ltd, which is one of the four largest real estate agencies in Singapore.
He does not have any transaction records yet.

Mr Faisal’s new job came to light when his photo was posted on Facebook by a fellow ERA property agent.
He depicted the former MP posing with three other men in front of an ERA sign and welcomed him to the fold as its latest associate.

The agent said that Mr Faisal’s valuable experience of serving his constituents on the ground will ensure that he will serve with nothing less than “sheer honesty”.
Faisal Manap says being property agent is another way to serve
In an interview with Berita Harian, Mr Faisal said he decided to venture into real estate because he saw it as another opportunity to serve the community.
He noted that he had worked in the service sector for almost 20 years, having served as a technical officer for the HDB.
His profile on the Workers’ Party (WP) website also states that he was a counsellor in the social service sector from 2006 to 2010.

After losing his MP seat during the 2025 General Election (GE2025), he also offered private counselling services.
At ERA, Mr Faisal is now gaining practical experience through on-the-job training under the guidance of a branch division director.
Though he hopes to operate independently in the future, he now uses this time to strengthen his basic skills, he said, adding:
This is another new phase of life for me. Just like when I was an MP, I always believed in myself and did what I could.
Faisal Manap remains in politics despite losing his MP seat
Mr Faisal became an MP when he was fielded as a candidate in WP’s victorious Ajunied GRC team at GE2011, displacing big names like then Foreign Minister George Yeo.

After being re-elected by Aljunied twice, he decided to contest Tampines GRC during GE2025, ultimately losing his seat when his team was defeated by the People’s Action Party.
Despite the loss, he remained in politics and in WP, and was re-elected to the opposition party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) in June.
He also retained his role as WP Vice-Chair, which he has held since 2016.
