Man Claims Geylang Stranger Hit Him With Glass Bottle & Wants To Identify Attacker

Man Claims He Was Attacked While Eating Buns At Geylang HDB

Many of us will find the following saying very familiar:

You don’t kacau other people, other people won’t come and kacau you.

That’s right, your parents must have said that to you at some point during your childhood as they teach you not to provoke others for no reason.

But that saying didn’t hold true for one Wei Xiao Bao (魏小寳), who claims he was attacked by a random stranger at Geylang while he was minding his own business.

He took to Facebook on Tuesday (4 Jun), detailing the events that day, and sought to identify the attacker responsible.

The post was subsequently reshared by All Singapore Stuff and has garnered over 800 shares at the time of writing.

Attacked while eating buns at Geylang HDB

According to Wei’s post, the incident took place at Blk 133 along Geylang East Ave 1.

Wei claims that he was eating some buns at the HDB void deck when a random assailant attacked him from the back using a Tiger Beer glass bottle.

He was struck with such force that the bottle’s neck was completely smashed.

As a result of the attack, Wei sustained a gash to the side of his head.

Be warned, the following image may be disturbing to some.

His right eye also appears to be bruised.

Attempted to give chase, but failed

Following the attack, Wei allegedly gave chase but wasn’t successful in catching up, likely hindered by his injuries.

Wei, however, managed to take a video showing the back view of the alleged attacker, who appears to have another glass beer bottle in his right hand.

According to All Singapore Stuff, the attacker remains at large, despite there being CCTVs around the vicinity.

Thus, Wei is seeking help to identify the attacker, presumably to seek justice.

However, it remains unknown if Wei has lodged a police report.

Still a one-sided story

Even though Wei claims that he did not do anything to provoke the alleged attacker, let’s not forget that this is ultimately a one-sided story.

We’ve also reached out to the police for information on the attack and will update this article once more information is known.

Regardless of what had happened, we hope that Mr Wei injuries are not serious and that he will make a full recovery soon.
