Mao Shan Wang (MSW) lovers, brace yourselves, for it’s time for another round of good ol’ durian feasting.
That’s because the year-end durian season is upon us again and prices are getting ridiculously low.
MSW durians are currently are going for just $16 – $20/kg. Prices are expected to drop even more due to a fall in demand.
Why MSW so popular?
Ask any Singaporean durian fan about their favourite durian, and 9 times out of 10, you’ll hear the words “Mao Shan Wang”.
For the uninitiated, MSW durians are all the richest and creamiest ones around.
Its distinct shade of yellow is immediately recognisable and the flesh’s bittersweet note gives durian lovers an instant mouthgasm.
