Pregnant Cow Gives Birth To Calf After Firecracker Injury
Last week, we reported that an elephant lost its life after falling victim to a firecracker-laden pineapple.
Yet another tale about an innocent animal getting injured by a firecracker-laced trap emerged this week, but a bittersweet miracle emerged from the tragedy.

A pregnant cow suffered a bloodied jaw after allegedly being fed a dough ball containing firecrackers, but still managed to deliver a healthy calf, reports HinduStanTimes (HST).
Cow injured while grazing
The incident came to light on 6 Jun, after the cow’s owner uploaded a video of the injured cow to social media.
Apparently, the owner, Mr Gurdayal Singh, heard an explosion go off on May 25 around 8.15pm, while his cow was out grazing, wrote The Hindu.
He later found his cow bleeding heavily from the jaw, claiming that it was injured during the explosion.
Neighbour arrested for crime
In his letter to the police, Mr Singh added that he suspected his neighbour Mr Nand Lal for injuring his cow.
The medical team who attended to his cow believed that the wound was inflicted by an explosive dough ball, typically used to fend off pests from crop fields.
Samples were taken from the cow’s wound for further tests, but Mr Lal has already been arrested for the crime, reported The Hindu.
Cow miraculously gave birth to calf
The cow sustained serious jaw injuries, and is being fed glucose as part of its treatment, shared HST.

However, it still managed to give birth to a healthy calf, and has received treatment for its injury.
A positive end to a tragedy
Though the cow has yet to recover, it’s great that it managed to bring new life into the world.
We hope the investigation goes smoothly, and that justice is served, both for the cow and its owner.
