Policewoman Continues To Report For Duty, Despite Being 30 Weeks Pregnant
Do you know what is harder than working the frontline nowadays? Working the frontline with a bun in the oven.
But that’s exactly what one police officer in Singapore is doing as she plays her part as a defender of justice in the midst of this Covid-19 pandemic.
In her Facebook post on Friday (17 Apr), Ms Reema shared that she is 30 weeks pregnant in her 3rd trimester with her 3rd child.
Most expectant mothers would avoid going out and risking exposure to the coronavirus, but not Ms Reema, who is still “hustling with no complaints”.
Pregnant policewoman continues to “hustle without complaints”
While she admits staying home and spending time with her kids sounds appealing, it appears her sense of duty prevents her from simply going on maternity leave during this difficult period.
Instead she continues to:
- Work insanely long and irregular hours
- Adhere to new unprecedented regulations
- Prevent/minimise crime
- Protect the innocent
- Advise and render assistance
- Expose herself to unpredictable danger
And she does all these while remaining calm and composed under public scrutiny, where it takes only a second for citizens to pull out a camera to record the next viral altercation.
But it is all worth it to her, as she believes,
Selflessness is fulfilling.
Encourages other frontline comrades
Ms Reema also gave a shoutout to all fellow frontline workers, as well as her husband, and shared her love for every single individual.

It is sacrifices like these that will see Singapore through the Covid-19 crisis.
If Ms Reema can complete her extensive list of duties while dealing with the inconvenience and dangers of pregnancy, surely we can do something as simple as being kind and cooperative during this period.
