Victim was always 30 minutes late
According to a 24 Oras report, the victim was supposed to relieve the suspect from work but was late. It was also not the first time the former had been late for his shift.
Antipolo City Police Chief Lieutenant Colonel Ryan Manongdo also told ABS-CBN that the victim was supposed to relieve the suspect from his post at 7am, but he would allegedly always arrive at 7.30am or later.
The suspect also said he would sometimes take consecutive shifts, only for the victim to not show up at work to relieve him.
The suspect also claimed the victim had threatened to hurt him and his family several times.
“I did it out of anger and because he was threatening me and my family,” he told 24 Oras. “It wasn’t a big deal to me, but I didn’t like that he involved my family.”
Security guard faces homicide charge
After the suspect surrendered at the warehouse, police seized his handgun and took him into custody, reports ABS-CBN.
He has been charged with homicide, but authorities are looking into elevating it to murder.
According to the victim’s wife, she thought her husband and the suspect had agreed on their shifts amicably.
“At times, my husband would tell me his colleague messaged saying he was taking consecutive shifts, then my husband will also take consecutive shifts on a certain day,” she told ABS-CBN.
The victim left behind his wife and their 1-year-old child.
