Second Group Of Singaporeans Fly Home From Wuhan
News that some Singaporeans were still unable to return home from Wuhan, China, may have made their friends and family worried.
Thankfully, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) didn’t stop at anything to bring these people out of the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak and get them home.

Today (9 Feb), 174 of them landed safely at Changi Airport, after which immediate safety measures kicked in.
All passengers to undergo immediate quarantine
As per protocol, all 174 on board the Scoot flight TR5121 had to undergo a mandatory health screening upon arrival at Changi Airport.
Officials would convey anyone showing fever or respiratory systems to the hospital right away for further assessments.
The rest will be under quarantine for 14 days, according to MFA’s press release.
Crew members are also subject to the above measures.
As of the time of writing, authorities have not announced any cases from the flight yet.
The flight also reportedly transported several Chinese nationals, according to an article by Channel NewsAsia (CNA).
Praise for MFA officials & flight crew for helping
In a Facebook post announcing the flight landing, Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan thanked officials involved in the procedure.
The MFA crisis response team, medical personal and Scoot air crew had volunteered despite the possible risks to bring the Singaporeans home.
For that, he says that “they exemplify the best of humanity in tough times”.
Indeed, all personnel dealing with the coronavirus directly on a regular basis deserve our utmost respect and admiration.

The first Scoot flight that carried 92 Singaporeans home from Wuhan on 30 Jan has since reported 4 cases.
We’re unsure what the outcome may be for the recent flight, but hope that nothing will surface over the next 14 days.
For now, everyone is waiting with bated breaths as we follow MOH’s updates closely.
