On Tuesday (10 Mar), the Ministry of Health reported 6 more Covid-19 cases in Singapore, bringing the country’s tally to 166.
According to Lianhe Zaobao, 2 of them, cases 162 and 163, are reported linked to another previously reported patient — case 142, through a climbing gym in Lavender.
Boulder+ Climbing – the gym in question – confirmed this on their Facebook page, and urged customers to be socially responsible.
In light of recent developments, the gym will also be closed temporarily.
Covid-19 patient visited Lavender climbing gym on 5 Mar
According to Boulder+ Climbing’s Facebook post, case 142, a 26-year-old patient visited the gym last Thursday (5 Mar).

Both Covid-19 patients warded at NCID
However, they updated their page again on Tuesday (10 Mar) announcing 2 new cases linked to case 142.
Both new patients tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday (9 Mar) and are currently warded at the National Centre Of Infectious Disease (NCID)

Climbing gym urges customers to be responsible
The rock climbing gym is working closely with MOH to notify those who were at the facility at the same time as the patient.
On their Facebook page, the rock climbing gym urged members to be cooperative if they’re told to undergo quarantine.
Climbers not in the quarantine list but visited the gym after 7pm on 5 Mar should also “observe social responsibility” by staying home, presumably as a precautionary measure.
Pulling all stops to protect their customers, the climbing gym is also closing their facility temporarily.
Boulder+ Climbing’s ‘leave-no-stones-unturned’ approach has also garnered praise from customers.
Customers took to the comments section to compliment the team for their responsible behaviour and the timely updates.
Singaporeans need to be more socially responsible
Just yesterday, Health Minister Gan Kim Yong revealed that the growing numbers in Covid-19 cases were due to Singaporean’s social irresponsibility, as 20% of them continued with their daily activities despite showing symptoms.
As the number of Covid-19 steadily increases in Singapore, we need to be more vigilant and mindful of our actions too.
If you’re feeling unwell, seek medical attention ASAP and stay at home, Covid-19 or not.
