Singaporeans flocked to IKEA on Thursday (18 Feb) morning as the new IKEA-Lego collaboration – BYGGLEK – launched at stores.

Demand for the BYGGLEK collection is so high that some of the products had already been listed on Carousell.
Long queues at IKEA Tampines for IKEA x Lego collection
IKEA is well known for their innovative creations and their latest project saw them collaborating with popular toy brand Lego to birth the BYGGLEK collection.
Many Singaporeans clamoured to IKEA Tampines on Thursday (18 Feb) morning to be among the first to purchase products from the collection.
The store opened their doors at 11am and by 11.30am, long queues had already formed.
Queues were so long they seemed to snake around the entire floor.
Many customers were seen with huge IKEA bags, seemingly purchasing multiple sets of the BYGGLEK collection.
BYGGLEK collection combines play and storage
The newly-launched BYGGLEK collection combines play with storage solutions.
It includes Lego boxes of different sizes as well as an exclusive 201-piece Lego brick set.
The box retails from $19.90 while the Lego set is selling at $24.90.
The collection launched in Singapore’s IKEA stores on Thursday (18 Feb) and will be launching online next Thursday (25 Feb).
However, due to its popularity, each customer is limited to 3 pieces in stores, according to IKEA’s website.
Reselling on Carousell within 30 minutes
In fact, the BYGGLEK collection is so popular that a set was listed on Carousell just 30 minutes after the furniture store opened today.
It was being sold at a marked up price of $70 for the set. The original retail price for the set is $44.80.
Can still purchase online from 25 Feb onwards
A Lego brick set that comes with its own fun and functional storage box is certainly a novel idea. Hence, it’s no surprise that the collection is so popular with customers.
If you’re looking to get your hands on this exciting new collaboration, not to worry, you can still get them at IKEA stores or online from 25 Feb onwards.
