Trio arrested in Jurong East are a couple & their friend
Residents told Lianhe Zaobao that they saw several police officers and at least three police vehicles at Block 262 Jurong East Street 24 on Friday night.
23-year-old delivery assistant Afiq said he had just returned home from work when he saw the officers gathered outside a fourth-floor unit opposite his.
The trio who were arrested — a couple and their friend — had moved in about two or three years ago, but he rarely saw them around.
Besides them, the unit was also occupied by an elderly couple, believed to be the parents of one of the young men.
Police officers attempted to enter unit
A 66-year-old neighbour surnamed Wang (transliterated from Mandarin) said she was about to sleep when she heard noises outside and saw police officers in the corridor.
She saw officers attempting to enter the unit, with some of them even climbing onto the roof of the four-storey block in order to gain access.
