Many small businesses have taken a hit due to ‘Circuit Breaker’ but some are affected more than others.

On Thursday (16 Apr), a netizen named Yvonne raised the plight of an elderly stall owner in Bedok. She had noticed the elderly lady after passing by the stall daily while going around the neighbourhood.

Determined to keep her business running despite challenges like old age and low sales during this period, Yvonne wishes the old lady receives more support.

Here’s what she knows, and how you can possibly help.

Her stall offers nonya kueh, chwee kueh, baos, dumplings and other breakfast items. Unfortunately, Yvonne observed that she’s usually sitting alone outside a stall with unsold items due to a lack of customers.

The thoughtful netizen shared that the ah ma struggled to stand up, but continued to run her stall anyway. Like most of us, she needs to keep earning money to get through this difficult period.

Yvonne has consistently bought her food items, but she doesn’t think it’s enough. She urges locals nearby to help because business is poor.

How you can help

The Kwek Seng Huat Coffee shop is an 8-minute walk from Tanah Merah MRT station. So if you happen to take the East-West Line and pass by the area, dropping by for a quick visit won’t hurt.

Here’s the exact location to help you find the stall more easily:

Address: 324 Bedok Rd, Singapore 469493
Contact Number: 9825 4147
Nearest MRT: Tanah Merah MRT station

Bedok Road is famous for various mee pok stalls and eateries, which means you can also dabao a full meal besides buying the ah ma‘s kuehs.

Let’s do our part to help businesses in the local community. We want to overcome these dark times together, but this is only possible if everyone gives a helping hand.
