Singaporean Mother Claims Police Won’t Be Taking Any Action
Anyone who’s a parent will be heartbroken to see their child physically abused.
One Singaporean mother named Ms Low was shocked when she found bruises and wounds on her daughter, allegedly caused by her childcare teacher.
But that wasn’t the end of it. After months of investigations, she claimed that police closed the case without taking action against any of the parties involved.
Ms Low was understandably disappointed with the verdict. She penned a lengthy Facebook post on Wednesday (14 Aug) in a bid to seek justice for her young daughter.

“Physically abused” by childcare teacher
According to an earlier post, Haley was “physically abused” by her childcare teacher in July 2018.
Photos shared on Facebook showed visible bruises on a young girl’s ear, thigh and shoulder. Haley was reportedly hospitalised for 4 days.
A separate post on the Parents Code website wrote that Haley was abused by a teacher who, at that time, was with the childcare for just 2 months.
Haley, who apparently “has slow growth” and “limited speech”, was with the childcare for the past 3 years, but experienced no issues prior to the incident.
Ms Low did not share the exact location of the childcare but did state that it is located in Hougang.
The victim’s family decided to lodge a police report, even though the childcare management staff allegedly told them not to do so.
Ms Low claimed that investigations were not as swift as she wanted it to be.
According to the same post in February, the police’s investigations progressed slowly, and showed no signs of advancement 6 months after the incident.
Case reportedly closed with no action taken
One month after the Facebook post, which also marked 9 months after the incident, Ms Low claimed her daughter was interviewed by a psychologist and asked to “draw out the events” that day.
Ms Low shared that her daughter’s drawing “broke her heart”. Haley’s drawings included:
- Herself crying
- The location where she was allegedly beaten
- Her teacher’s angry face
- Her classmates’ smiling faces.
On Wednesday (14 Aug), the police purportedly contacted Ms Low and told her about the verdict — the case has been closed and no action will be taken.

Ms Low was extremely disappointed with the outcome of the investigations and claims to have lost faith in the police and the legal system.
Through the post, she hopes to show “how our legal system here protects the young”, and appeals for justice.

While this continues to be a one-sided account of the incident, we believe most of us would feel the same way as Ms Low, if our child was physically abused.
