Ho Ching Isn’t Stopping Her Facebook Posts Any Time Soon
It’s not everyday we get to see a well-known person like Ho Ching type the following words on social media:
“Heehee heehee heeheehee!”
But that was what exactly happened yesterday evening (20 Apr).
Just as everyone was wondering if the wife of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Temasek Holdings CEO’s Facebook account had been hacked, a long elaboration for her outburst of laughter soon followed.
So what tickled Mdm Ho’s bones? Apparently, she shared that some critics had been taking aim at her recently. But as a wise man said, people who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.
Perhaps she hadn’t lost control of her social media account, but gurl gotta chill with the emoji spam.
Ho Ching claps back against her haters
While most of the post focused on plans by Temasek to help out during the Covid-19 outbreak, the latter part contained the seeming origin of her “rotfl”.
That’s “rolling on the floor laughing” for those wondering.
Here’s the pertinent part of the post.
It’s an awfully candid assessment of those who have been calling for her to post less on Facebook.
Apparently, someone that important shouldn’t have all that much free time, but judging from her descriptions of her meetings, she’s definitely doing work.
She even calls them out by saying these people “blocked others from posting contrarians (sic) views on their sites”.
We cannot be completely sure as to who she’s referring to, but politicians like Lim Tean, leader of opposition party People’s Voice, have previously commented on her social media activity on Facebook.
He was, along with 3 others, were issued a POFMA notice for sharing comments that Mdm Ho makes $100 million a year as Temasek CEO.
Mdm Ho simply loves to share things on Facebook
While one can point to her status as the manager of trillions of dollars, she isn’t a politician — and one can probably see why from her Facebook feed.
You see, everyday without fail, she’ll pepper her feed with a great number of posts to share with her followers.

There are probably over 200 posts daily, and most, if not all, are normally unaccompanied with captions. So we don’t really know whether she actually reads or reshares them.
Politicians often have to scrutinise what they post, but Mdm Ho seems less concerned about political correctness judging from her postings.
Ho Ching is candidly being herself on social media
Since Covid-19, Mdm Ho has been more active on social media, educating folks about masks, hand sanitisers, and more.
Recently, she came under fire from Taiwanese netizens after posting “Errrr…” under a shared article about Taiwan donating masks to Singapore, which she subsequently apologised for.
Never has she been this candid about her critics, though.
As involved as she is with government money, she technically isn’t an actual civil servant since Temasek is a private company.
So no, we don’t think Mdm Ho is stopping her postings on Facebook any time soon.
