Singaporeans Below 54 Can Enjoy Chicken Rice At 54% Discount
Update (27 Jul): OK Chicken Rice will serve the first 1,000 plates of chicken rice with egg to elderly Singaporeans aged above 54 for free after receiving contributions from 2 anonymous donors.
The Huawei fiasco on Friday (26 Jul) might have left a bad taste in the mouths of many Singaporeans.
If you’re one of them, here’s some good news — you’ll soon be able to bid that taste goodbye and replace it with the comforting aroma of $0.54 chicken rice.
Next Saturday (3 Aug), OK Chicken Rice – a stall in Redhill – is selling, you guessed it, chicken rice for just $0.54 a plate to celebrate National Day.
Now, that’s even cheaper than the cup of kopi you can get to accompany classic Singaporean dish.
$0.54 chicken rice for Singaporeans above 54
To enjoy the promotion, you’d have to be a Singapore citizen above the age of 54.
You’d also need to bring along your NRIC to verify your age.
But if you’re not of the ‘eligible age’, fret not. Singaporeans, regardless of age, enjoy a 54% off all items on the menu.

That said, the promotional chicken rice is available on a “while stocks last” basis, and each customer is only allowed to purchase 1 plate of chicken rice each.
Head on down early!
Here’s the location of the stall, if you’re planning a trip down next Saturday.

Folks from OK Chicken Rice did not disclose the exact plates of chicken rice available for this promotion but are prepared to serve customers for the entire day:
We are prepared to chop from morning to night, there should be enough for everyone
But if you’d like to have a plate, we advise heading down early, for a snaking a queue is pretty much guaranteed on the day of the promotion.
