Secondary 2 student dies in hospital after falling from school building

A 14-year-old female student from Heng Ee Secondary School in Penang, Malaysia died after falling from the eighth floor of a school building.

The incident took place at about 4.45pm on Monday (18 Nov). It is not known why she was on that floor, as well as the circumstances that led to her fall.

The Secondary 2 student survived the initial fall and was conveyed to the Penang General Hospital for emergency treatment. 

Following the incident, an ambulance rushed to the scene and administered emergency first aid to the injured student.

Female student passes away in hospital due to severe injuries

According to initial reports by China Press, her injuries were not life-threatening.

But after being rushed to Penang General Hospital, the 14-year-old female student succumbed to her injuries and passed away at about 5.25pm.

The family members of the deceased student have confirmed her death at the hospital morgue and reported the case to the police.

Police allegedly found “short suicide note”

The police have since found a “short suicide note” at the scene of the incident.

They believe that the 14-year-old had taken her life due to academic pressure.

Since October, there have been at least three cases of students dying after falling from school compounds in Malaysia.

Earlier this month, a 16-year-old student died after falling from the fourth floor of his school building.
