Maybank Has Free Remittance Service For M’sians In S’pore Till 14 Apr, With Good Exchange Rates Too

Maybank Customers Will Not Be Charged Transfer Fees When Remitting Funds To Malaysia

Since Malaysia implemented the Movement Control Order (MCO) last week, some of its citizens working in Singapore have been ‘stuck’, unable to return home to see their loved ones.

Another inconvenience that arose from this is that workers are not able to pass money on to their families in person.

Thankfully from now till 14 Apr, Maybank is offering complimentary remittance service for Malaysians in Singapore.

Maybank customers can enjoy “attractive” exchange rates when remitting funds to Malaysia

According to The Business Times, customers will not be charged transfer fees when they remit funds to a Malaysian bank account.

They can also look forward to “attractive” exchange rates when they utilise the service.

A spokesperson from Maybank Singapore said this is part of the bank’s efforts to support the community.

The bank hopes the initiative will provide relief for Malaysians here during these difficult times. The service will, at the same time, help ensure that their families back home get the funds they need in a “timely manner”.

To enjoy the service, customers can visit any Maybank outlet from now till 14 Apr — when the MCO ends.

This service is only valid for transfers to and from individual accounts.

Hope other companies will also introduce supportive measures

We are heartened by Maybank’s initiative to make lives easier for Malaysians ‘stuck’ in Singapore during these difficult times.

Let’s hope other companies will follow suit and introduce supportive measures of their own to help fellow members of the community.
