7 passengers killed after bus crash in Russia on 10 May
Seven passengers on a bus in Russia died and several others were injured after the vehicle skidded off a bridge and plunged into the Moika River in St. Petersburg on 10 May.
At the time of the accident, the bus was carrying about 20 passengers.
Surveillance footage captured the light blue bus losing control while making a right turn onto the bridge.

The bus collided with a car coming from the opposite direction, struck the railing, and fell into the murky water below. It was nearly submerged after the fall.
Many passers-by rushed to witness the incident and help.
Authorities dispatched for rescue operations
Emergency workers were quickly dispatched to the scene to rescue the victims.
Reports indicate that some emergency personnel were deployed on the roof of the bus, with rescue boats and ambulances standing by, according to Reuters.
Officers expressed their gratitude to passers-by who jumped into the water to assist with the rescue efforts.
Tragically, seven passengers lost their lives, and several others sustained injuries.
It has been reported that eight passengers were extracted from the wreckage using a roof hatch, while 10 others managed to escape independently and were subsequently rescued by the boats.
At least five individuals were transported to the hospital for medical attention.
The 44-year-old driver, who fled the scene following the collision, was later detained as a suspect.
Specialists successfully lifted the passenger bus from the river.

Bus driver sentenced to 6 years in prison for negligence causing death
On Friday (25 Oct), Russian media reported that the driver, Rakhmatshukh Kurbonov, pleaded guilty to causing death through negligence.
During the hearing at the Oktyabrsky District Court in St. Petersburg, it was revealed that Kurbonov had been “exhausted” when he lost control of the bus, which then plunged into the icy waters of the Moika River after crashing through safety barriers and colliding with two cars.
Police testified that his tired state impaired his reaction time and attention, significantly endangering traffic safety.
As a result, Kurbonov received a six-year prison sentence along with a two-and-a-half-year driving ban.
