Singapore Pools experiences technical difficulties on 4 Dec
On Wednesday (4 Dec), state-owned gambling company Singapore Pools faced extensive technical difficulties across the island.
This caused several of its services to be unavailable for hours, including the purchase of 4D numbers ahead of that evening’s draw.
According to Lianhe Zaobao, the issues were first reported at around 11.50am and continued into the early afternoon.
By 4pm, online services appeared to have resumed as normal.
Outlets display notices to inform public
Many Singapore Pools outlets displayed notices to alert customers of the technical issues with the company’s system.
Betting counters also showed “Closed” signs and temporarily stopped accepting bets.
Some outlets even lowered their shutters, halting business during the affected period.
Online services also affected
The technical difficulties impacted more than just physical outlets.
Many users took to social media to report being unable to make payments for their bets via the official Singapore Pools app.
The website also displayed a notice stating: “Deposit, Withdrawal and Refund through PayNow is currently unavailable.”
While the exact time services were restored remains unclear, some users reported continued issues as late as 3.20pm.
MS News noted that online services appeared to have resumed around 4pm, roughly four hours after the initial reports of the malfunction.
MS News has reached out to Singapore Pools for further details on the incident.
