Then we found out what Thomson Reuters really means by “World’s Hottest Researchers”. As it turns out, the global ranking recognises the best scientists who have published at least 14 papers in 2015 and high numbers of citations. It has nothing to do with muscular men dancing in labcoats. Source Forum users were quick to pick up the misleading title of the survey. Source In all fairness, despite the survey’s misleading title, the results are still a reason to celebrate. Professor David Lou and Professor Zhang Hua were ranked 8th and 12th respectively in the survey that was dominated by scientists from the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard.
