President of Voices for Animals seeks public help for cats’ essential items
Following the closure of the animal welfare group Animal Lovers League (ALL) in December 2025, Voices for Animals (VFA) has stepped up to take in the centre’s displaced cats.
VFA president Derrick Tan announced, in a 23 March Facebook post, that the cats from ALL will be taken in on 27 March.
Cats to be brought to VFA
In the post, Mr Tan thanked the public for supporting their “appeal for essential items” for the cats, as the organisation is in the process of rehoming the cats from ALL.

The animal group had raised about 2,700kg of cat tofu litter, of which 2,200kg has been used.
“Yes, the numbers are significant, but so is the number of cats under care,” Mr Tan stated.
Urging donations to help displaced cats
The president added that the cat litter supply has run low, urging the public to help with donations.

“It truly takes a whole kampung to come together to make this happen. I know I already have many animals under my care, but I take on more because they need help,” Mr Tan said.
OSCAS takes in dogs from ALL
For the displaced dogs from ALL, Oasis Second Chance Animal Shelter (OSCAS) will be taking in 29 out of the 56 dogs into their care.

“This is a significant responsibility, particularly as we have just established a new unit to house the homeless Sarimbun dogs from Lim Chu Kang,” OSCAS said.
The shelter currently has 91 dogs, and the 29 new additions will bring the total to 120.
“It is a daunting undertaking, especially as 95% of these new arrivals require medical attention,” they added.
OSCAS has since secured two additional units in The Animal Lodge to support the 29 dogs, bringing their current total of units to nine.

“We are deeply grateful to NParks and AVS (Animal and Veterinary Service) for their generous support in providing one year’s free rental and three months’ free utilities,” the shelter shared.
However, even with the help from authorities, the amount of care needed is “substantial”.
“We project an additional annual expenditure of approximately S$178,000 in 2026 to sustain the care these dogs deserve,” OSCAS said.
“As we take on this responsibility, we seek your support. Your contribution — no matter the amount — will go directly towards giving these 29 dogs a second chance at a safe, healthy, loving life and ultimately the opportunity to find their forever homes.”
