15-year-old boy allegedly left with bruised eye after being beaten by classmates while teacher was around
A 15-year-old Malaysian boy was allegedly beaten unconscious by several classmates, all while a trainee teacher reportedly stood by and did nothing.
The Form Three student from a secondary school in Kuala Muda, Kedah, was said to be reading quietly when the unprovoked assault began. He was later found vomiting, with doctors suspecting a concussion.
Alleged beating happened in front of intern teacher
According to China Press, the incident unfolded on Monday (21 July) afternoon.
The victim had just returned from a school-arranged eye test and was reading a novel alone in class when a group of three to four classmates began harassing him.
His 53-year-old father, Mr Zheng (name transliterated), said the boy tried to avoid the group by changing seats multiple times, but they continued provoking him.
Things escalated when one student allegedly grabbed the boy’s book.
A scuffle broke out, during which the student was surrounded and repeatedly punched. One assailant allegedly didn’t stop until the victim lost consciousness.
Reports state that a female intern teacher, who had only been posted to the school for a month, was present but did not intervene during the assault.

Teen vomitted after attack, doctors suspect concussion
Mr Zheng said the school called him immediately after the incident.
He rushed his son to the hospital, where doctors noted signs of a possible concussion and vomiting. The teen was given an injection and sent for a brain scan and X-ray.
Doctors have ordered him to remain under observation for at least six hours to monitor for further complications.

Following the incident, the parents of the accused students allegedly reached out through private channels to propose a settlement and urged the family not to pursue the matter further.
However, Mr Zheng firmly declined, stressing the severity of the assault. He has since lodged a police report.
Victim has allegedly been bullied before
The victim’s younger sister, who attends the same school, revealed that her brother had long been a target of bullying.
She even claimed he was once forcibly undressed by classmates, though he had brushed it off at the time.
Describing her brother as soft-spoken and conflict-avoidant, she believed his quiet nature made him an easy target.
At the time of the incident, the boy was reportedly the only Chinese student in the classroom. The remaining three were either absent or at the eye test.
