Buangkok Bus Interchange to open on 1 Dec, will be integrated with Sengkang Grand Mall & Buangkok MRT station

LTA announces upcoming opening of Buangkok Bus Interchange

Land Transport Authority (LTA) has announced the upcoming opening of Buangkok Bus Interchange.

Operated by SBS Transit, the new bus interchange will begin operations next month on 1 Dec.

The interchange will be integrated with both Sengkang Grand Mall and Buangkok MRT station, improving connectivity for commuters in the northeastern region.

Buangkok Bus Interchange will be Singapore’s 12th Integrated Transport Hub (ITH).

New bus interchange can accommodate up to 7 bus services

The bus interchange will begin operations with three bus services — 110, 114, and 156.

The three existing bus services will amend their route along with the bus interchange’s opening.

Bus Service 110 will be relocated from Compassvale Bus Interchange. The new route adds two pairs of stops along Sengkang East Avenue and skips one pair along Compassvale Road.

Following this amendment, Compassvale Bus Interchange will cease operations. The only remaining bus service, Service 374, will be relocated to Sengkang Bus Interchange.

Bus service 156, relocated from Sengkang Bus Interchange, will be adding one new stop along Sengkang East Avenue.

It will skip seven stops along the old route along Sengkang East Road, Sengkang East Way, and Compassvale Road.

Bus Service 114, which currently has its first and final alighting points along Sengkang Central, will operate from Buangkok Bus Interchange instead.

Details on all route amendments will be made available at affected bus stops and bus interchanges.

Buangkok Bus Interchange can accommodate seven bus services in total — more bus services will be introduced progressively.

Will have commuter-friendly features

Aside from improved connectivity, the bus interchange will also feature amenities designed for families with young children, seniors, and those with mobility issues.

These include dedicated priority queue zones with seats at all boarding berths and barrier-free access.

The interchange will also have wheelchair-accessible toilets and a baby care room for parents, equipped with touchless auto-sliding doors.
