Singapore Confirms 12 New Covid-19 Cases, Bringing National Tally To 212 On 14 Mar
On Saturday (14 Mar), Singapore confirmed 12 new Covid-19 cases and 8 recoveries.
Here’s an overview of today’s new cases:
- 9 are imported cases, which means they caught the virus overseas
- Of the 9, 1 is linked to the mass religious event in Kuala Lumpur
- Another is linked to a private dinner function at SAFRA Jurong
With today’s latest numbers, SAFRA Jurong remains Singapore’s largest cluster with 45 cases.
We now have a total of 212 confirmed cases, with 105 discharged from hospital.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) reports that of the 107 cases still hospitalised, 14 are in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Covid-19 imported cases on 14 Mar had gone to Malaysia, US & Europe
MOH identifies the 12 new cases as Case 201, 202, 203, 204, 205, 206, 207, 208, 209, 210, 211 and 212.
Let’s look at the imported cases first.
Case 202: A 44-year-old male Singaporean who was in Malaysia from 28 Feb-3 Mar. He’s now warded in Sengkang General Hospital (SKH). He had attended a mass religious gathering at a mosque in Malaysia, and Malaysian authorities had subsequently reported several confirmed Covid-19 cases linked to the event.
The Anchorvale Drive resident tested positive on 13 Mar.
Before being admitted, he had visited:
- Masjid Al-Mawaddah at 151 Compassvale Bow
- Masjid Jamae (Chulia) at 218 South Bridge Road
- Masjid Al-Istiqamah at 2 Serangoon North Avenue 2.
Case 203: A 36-year-old female Singaporean who was in Indonesia from 6-8 Mar. She tested positive on 13 Mar afternoon, and is currently warded at Changi General Hospital (CGH).
Before being admitted, she mostly stayed at her home at Pasir Ris Street 51.
Case 204: A 32-year-old male American national who is a Singapore Work Pass holder. He was in Japan from 29 Feb-8 Mar. He tested positive on 13 Mar, and is currently warded at Singapore General Hospital (SGH).
Prior to hospital admission, he had mostly stayed at his home in the Tanjong Pagar Road area.
Case 205: A 30-year-old female Filipino national who is a Singapore Long Term Visit Pass holder, and was in the Philippines from 27 Feb-6 Mar.
She tested positive on 14 Mar morning, and is currently warded at the National Centre for
Infectious Diseases (NCID).
Case 206: A 33-year-old female New Zealand national who is a Singapore Long Term Visit Pass holder, and had been to the United States from 28 Feb-13 Mar.
She tested positive on 14 Mar morning, and is currently warded at NCID.
Case 207: A 40-year-old female Singaporean who had been in the United Kingdom from 6-11 Mar. She tested positive on 14 Mar morning and is currently warded at NCID.
Case 209: A 32-year-old female Singaporean who had been in the United States from 2-7 Mar. She tested positive on 14 Mar morning, and is currently warded at SGH.
Case 210: A 56-year-old male German national who is a Singapore Long Term Visit Pass holder, and had been in Germany from 27 Feb-3 Mar, and again from 11-12 Mar, and Switzerland from 3-10 Mar.
He tested positive on 14 Mar morning and is currently warded at NCID.
Case 212: A 64-year-old male Indonesian national. He tested positive on 14 Mar morning, and is currently warded at NCID.
Case 201 linked to SAFRA Jurong cluster
Meanwhile, here are the details for the remaining 3 cases. Let’s go back to Case 201.
Case 201: A 52-year-old female Singaporean with no recent travel history to affected countries and region. She is currently warded in an isolation room at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH).
She is linked to the cluster involving the private dinner function at SAFRA Jurong.
5 New Covid-19 Cases On 5 Mar, Including 4 Linked To New SAFRA Jurong Cluster
She tested positive on 13 Mar afternoon. Prior to hospital admission, she mostly stayed at her home at Teck Whye Lane.
Case 208: A 26-year-old female Singaporean who has no recent travel history to affected countries and regions. She tested positive on 14 Mar morning, and is currently warded in an isolation room at NCID.
Not much is known about her at the time of writing.
Case 211: A 35-year-old female Filipino national who is a Singapore Long Term Visit Pass holder. She tested positive on 14 Mar morning and is currently warded in an isolation room at NCID. She is linked to Case 142.
If you need a refresher, Case 142 involves a 26-year-old male Singaporean who has no recent travel history to affected countries and regions. He is a family member of Cases 139 and 140, and is linked to the cluster involving the private dinner function at SAFRA Jurong.
He had tested positive on 7 Mar.
Singaporeans advised to defer travels to affected countries
MOH continues to advise Singaporeans to defer all travel to Hubei Province, and all non-essential travel to these affected regions:
- Mainland China
- France
- Germany
- Iran
- Italy
- Japan
- South Korea
- Spain
