Driver Accidentally Stepped On Accelerator And Crashed Into 3 Other Cars In a cruel twist of fate, a 70-year-old man died outside Gleneagles Hospital on Thursday (4 October). He died after a 4-vehicle accident at the entrance of the hospital, although it isn’t clear if the accident caused his death. Reports suggest that the man was visiting the hospital for a medical check-up for a heart condition. Wrong foot The deceased was in a Trans-Cab taxi with his 42-year-old son. A video from the taxi’s in-vehicle camera shows that the taxi was moving when there was a sudden impact on its right. At the time, an SMRT taxi was turning into the hospital’s service road. The Straits Times reported that the driver of the SMRT taxi was stopping to let his passengers alight when he accidentally stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake pedal.
