Mother in Thailand carries 8-month-old baby on 450km trip after mother-in-law kicks her out
A mother in Thailand carried her 8-month-old baby and went on a 450-kilometre trip to her husband’s residence after her mother-in-law kicked her out of the house.
Local reporters spotted the 30-year-old mum while she was on her trip on Saturday afternoon (9 N0v).
Mum seen with all her belongings on motorcycle
According to Thairath, the reporters saw the mum driving on her bike at 4.30pm in Prachin Buri.
The woman was driving a red Honda Wave without a license plate. She had tied her luggage to the backseat and her front basket was filled with plastic bags.
Additionally, her 8-month-old baby sat inside the baby carrier attached to the woman.
“Where are you headed?” the reporter asked.
The woman responded that she was headed to Chonburi, which meant she still had around 150km left on her journey.
Furthermore, she had come from Chaiyaphum, which was over 300km away from their current location. The woman told reporters she had been travelling since 8am that morning, with just under ฿500 (S$19) left on her.
Left home after fight with mother-in-law
Despite her predicament, the woman refused to accept any money from the reporters. However, she did tell them that she left home due to a big fight with her mother-in-law.
According to Matichon, the woman and her husband were initially working together in Chonburi, leaving their baby in the care of her mother-in-law.
However, after her husband’s younger brother was involved in an accident that required brain surgery, the mother-in-law suddenly had to care for both the baby and the recovering brother.
To help ease the burden, the woman decided to leave her job to support her mother-in-law and look after her child.
The mother-in-law, stressed from managing both the baby and her injured son, began to lash out.
When the woman shared this with her husband, he tried to mediate between them. But when her mother-in-law received his call, she became upset and told the woman she could leave if she was unhappy.
Hearing this, the woman gathered her belongings, took her baby, and left.
